Covid-19 Travel Requirements

St. Kitts & Nevis is pleased to share the new Health and Safety protocols in effect on December 11, 2021. The Federation is observing a phased reopening with specific entry and travel requirements to be maintained by visitors.

The Federation's travel requirements for fully vaccinated travelers by
Air and Sea are stated below.

Currently, only fully vaccinated travelers and non vaccinated children under 18 traveling with fully vaccinated parents or guardians will be allowed entry into St. Kitts & Nevis. Exemptions for Citizens, Residents, and non-vaccinated children under 18 traveling with fully-vaccinated parents or guardians.

A traveler is considered fully vaccinated, 14 days after their second dose of a two-dose vaccine series (e.g., Bharat Biotech-Covaxin, Pfizer/BioNTech, Covishield , Moderna, AstraZeneca/Oxford, Sinovac or Sinopharm) or two weeks after the traveler has received a single dose vaccine (e.g., Johnson & Johnson’s/Janssen). As of July 12, St. Kitts & Nevis accepts a mixed vaccine doses of two dose regimens of AstraZeneca/Oxford, Bharat Biotech- Covaxin, Covishield, Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, Sinovac and Sinopharm.



All travelers will be required to:

Submit Required Forms & Upload Test

Effective Friday April 1st 2022, all travelers must submit a Rapid Antigen negative test result from a CLIA/CDC/UKAS approved lab accredited with ISO/IEO 17025 standard, taken 1 day prior of your arrival or submit a COVID-19 RT-PCR or NAAT negative test result from a CLIA/CDC/UKAS approved lab accredited with ISO/IEO 17025 standard, taken within 3 days of your arrival, along with the required embarkation form, and all other supporting documentation. An embarkation form is required regardless of age.

Please note, acceptable COVID-19 RT-PCR, NAAT or Rapid Antigen tests must be taken by nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal sample. Self-samples or home tests will be considered invalid. The St. Kitts and Nevis Ministries of Health do not accept doctor letters of recovery, all incoming travelers must submit a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR, NAAT or Rapid Antigen test result to travel to St. Kitts and Nevis.

Fully vaccinated travelers will be required to submit a copy of their official Vaccination Record card (Vaccination Certificate) including dates when doses were administered.

All incoming travelers must have hard copies of their negative RT-PCR, NAAT or Rapid Antigen test results and Vaccination Record card (Vaccination Certificate). Travelers must present their travel approval letter via their mobile device or printed format to the required airline and health officials.

Fully vaccinated returning nationals and residents travelers arriving by air will no longer undergo a "Vacation in Place" (quarantine) period or testing upon arrival . They can integrate into the Federation and participate in all open tours, visit attractions, and can travel throughout St. Kitts and Nevis. This requirement also applies to non-vaccinated children under the age of 12 traveling with fully vaccinated parents.

Nonvaccinated children between the age of 12 -17 who are traveling with fully vaccinated parents or guardians must undergo an RT-PCR Test(USD $100 Nationals and Residents) within 24 hours of arrival. Parents are to remain in "Vacation in Place" (quarantine) with the child until receipt of negative RT-PCR test results.

Non-vaccinated and partially vaccinated returning nationals and residents will undergo an RT-PCR Test (USD100 National/Resident) on day 7, and if they test negative, the returning National or Resident will be allowed to integrate into St. Kitts and Nevis.

International travelers have the option to book any property on the island. Travelers who wish to stay at a Travel Approved hotel will be able to book one of the following:

Fully vaccinated international travelers aged 12 and older staying at their "Travel Approved" hotel will no longer undergo a "Vacation in Place" (quarantine) period or testing upon arrival. They can integrate into the Federation and a participate in all open tours, visit attractions , and can travel throughout St. Kitts and Nevis. Unvaccinated children under 12 years who are travelling with their fully vaccinated parents will be subject to the same entry protocols as their fully vaccinated parents.

Nonvaccinated children between the age of 12 -17 who are traveling with fully vaccinated parents or guardians must undergo an RT-PCR Test( USD $150 for non-Nationals and Non-Residents/ USD $100 for Nationals and Residents) within 24 hours of arrival. Parents are to remain in "Vacation in Place" (quarantine) with the child until receipt of negative RT-PCR test results.

The required RT-PCR arrivals test will be administered onsite at "Travel Approved" hotels. The test must be taken by a Ministry of Health-approved medical health professional at the traveler's cost of US $150 for non-Nationals and non-Residents, US $100 for Nationals and Residents.

Reservations are to be made solely through the hotel concierge. Tests conducted by independent local labs or health professionals offering RT-PCR testing services will not be accepted.

Travelers who are staying at other properties will be required to contact a government lab, an independent local lab or health professionals offering RT-PCR testing services.

Please present printed documentation including:

  • Negative RT-PCR, NAAT or Rapid Antigen COVID-19 test that was submitted
  • Travel Authorization Form (presenting via mobile device is also accepted)
  • Official COVID Vaccination Record Card (Vaccination Certificate) (applies to fully vaccinated travelers)

Health Screening Questions

Upon arrival, all travelers will have their temperature checked and asked to answer a series of health screening questions, including health and travel history.

In the event a traveler exhibits any COVID-19 symptoms during the health screening, the traveler will be required to take a COVID-19 test on site at the traveler's expense.

Returning Nationals Departure Requirements

Testing upon departure is not required for Nationals/Residents of St. Kitts, unless required for the country of destination. If a pre-departure test is still required for the country of destination, the Antigen test (USD 50-55 visitors' cost) or the RT-PCR test (USD 100 visitors' cost) will be taken 24 to 72 hours prior to departure (e.g. For travelers departing to the United States, all air passengers 2 years and older are required to show a negative COVID-19 viral test result taken no more than 1 day before travel or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the past 90 days, before boarding their flight. This applies to non-vaccinated and fully vaccinated travelers). An Antigen should only be taken only if the country of the destination accepts approved rapid testing.

International Travelers Departure Requirements

Fully vaccinated International Travelers arriving by air are not required to submit an exit RT-PCR test. However, if a pre-departure test is still required for the country of the destination, travelers must take an Antigen test(USD 50-55 visitors' cost) or an RT-PCR test (USD 150 visitors’ cost) 48 to 72 hours prior to departure. For travelers departing to the United States, all air passengers 2 years and older are required to show a negative COVID-19 viral test result taken no more than 1 day before travel or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the past 90 days, before boarding their flight. The test should be scheduled through the hotel concierge desk. Pre-departure tests will be taken solely by a Ministry of Health-approved health professional.

International travelers who are staying in travel approved villas, condos and/or private homes are advised to contact the COVID-19 taskforce hotline 311 or covid19taskforce@gov.kn to schedule their pre-departure tests.
