Covid-19 Travel Requirements

St. Kitts & Nevis is pleased to once again welcome visitors to its shores beginning May 1, 2021. The Federation will observe a phased reopening with specific entry and travel requirements to be observed by visitors. The travel requirements outlined here are for Phase 1.

The Federation's travel requirements for vaccinated and non-vaccinated travelers arriving by Air and Sea are stated below.

Returning Nationals, Residents (proof of residency stamp in passport), Caribbean Single Market Economy (CSME) certificate holders and Work Permit Holders are required to:

Submit Required Forms & Upload Test

Submit COVID-19 RT-PCR negative test result from a CLIA/CDC/UKAS approved lab accredited with ISO/IEO 17025 standard, taken within 72 hours of travel, along with required embarkation form and all other supporting documentation. A form is required regardless of age. Forms must be submitted no later than 24 hours prior to travel.

Please note, acceptable COVID-19 PCR tests must be taken by nasopharyngeal sample. Self-samples, rapid tests, or home tests will be considered invalid.

Follow Health & Safety Guidelines

For your health and safety, visitors are required to wear a face mask, practice proper hand sanitizing, and physical distancing.

The cost for 14-day quarantine at the Government facility at Bird Rock Apartment Complex is USD 700.00 plus USD 200.00 deposit, OTI is USD 500.00, Ocean’s Edge is USD 800.00, and at Potworks it is USD 400.00. Koi Resort is USD 60.00/night for a standard room and USD 90.00/night for a suite. The cost for each COVID-19 test is USD 100.00. Returning nationals and residents may also opt to stay in pre-approved quarantine housing at their own cost, including appropriate security.

The government-approved accommodations are:

  • Bird Rock Apartment Complex
  • Koi Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton
  • Ocean's Edge
  • Ocean Terrace Inn (OTI)
  • Oualie Beach
  • Potworks
  • Royal St. Kitts Hotel (Limited - Monitored activity)

Any traveler in this category who wishes to stay in one of the approved hotels for “Vacation in Place”, are required to do the following:

1-7 days: visitors are free to move about the hotel property, interact with other guests and partake in hotel activities.

8-14 days: visitors will undergo an RT-PCR test (USD 100 Nationals/Residents) on day 7. If the traveler tests negative on day 8, they are allowed, through the hotel’s tour desk, to book select excursions and access select destination sites (list to be announced later).

14 days or longer: visitors will need to undergo an RT-PCR test (USD 100 Nationals/Residents) on day 14, and if they test negative the traveler will be allowed to integrate into St. Kitts and Nevis.

Please present printed documentation including:

  • Negative RT-PCR COVID-19 test that was submitted
  • Travel Authorization Form
  • Official COVID Vaccination Record Card (applies to vaccinated travelers)

Health Screening Questions

Upon arrival, all travelers will have their temperature checked and asked to answer a series of health screening questions, including health and travel history.

In the event a traveler exhibits any COVID-19 symptoms during the health screening, the traveler will be required to take a COVID-19 test on site at the traveler's expense.

For your health and safety, please ensure that you:

    Wear your mask when social distancing is not possible.
    Practice social distancing.
    Wash or sanitize your hands in 30 minute intervals.
  • Follow established health & safety protocols for all attractions and excursions.

Report any COVID-19 symptoms to any government official or your hotel manager. You can call the emergency health hotline at 311.

Departure Requirements

Departure Requirements

Arrive 3 hours prior to flight departure.

All travelers are required to take an RT-PCR test (150 USD) 48 to 72 hours prior to departure if their country of destination requires it. (e.g., US citizens are required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result prior to returning to the US and applies to non-vaccinated and fully vaccinated travelers). All incoming travelers visiting the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis for three days or less including those in transit will have their departure nasopharyngeal RT-PCR test sample collected at the airport upon arrival.

If positive before departure, the traveler will be required to stay in isolation at their cost at their respective hotel. If negative, travelers may proceed with departure on their respective date.
